Halberg, a Danish-owned family group based on 200 years of business acumen and drive, has sold Halberg Hotels to the Funen family group Milling Hotels A/S. The transaction should be seen in light of a general development in the industry, where consolidation is taking place, and Halberg Hotels and Milling Hotels A/S complement each other in terms of business and value. Halberg is pleased to have found a new owner for Halberg Hotels, who is professional and has a strong set of values.
Halberg A/S has sold Halberg Hotels to Milling Hotels A/S. The takeover will take place on 1 October 2026. Halberg Hotels operates four hotels, all of which contribute positively to the bottom line. The three hotels Hotel Svendborg, Hotel Garni and Hotel Ærø are located in Svendborg, while Hotel Fredericia is located in the town of the same name. The four hotels will now become part of Milling Hotels A/S, which already has 11 hotels on Funen and Jutland, as well as one on Lolland. The two hotel companies thus complement each other geographically. Halberg is pleased with the agreement with Milling and looks back on almost 50 years of hotel operations.

Halberg continuously monitors how the markets are developing, and for the hotel market, there is a clear movement towards increased consolidation, where economies of scale, improved agility and an overall broader appeal provide significant competitive advantages. Therefore, it is concluded that Halberg Hotels will be strongest in the future hotel market if the company is also part of a larger constellation. Here, Milling Hotels A/S is a really good match, which is also owned by a Funen family, as is the case with Halberg Hotels.
